GKI 13th Annual Competition
What
a great day and thank you to one and all for the support given to
Paddock Hill Dojo. The students were fantastic, with nerves jangling but
always ready to help each other. Well and what can we say about the
supporters club with mums, dads, brothers, sisters and family members
cheering from the crowds the support was second to none.
In all
we had 16 students entering various divisions and the tally for the
medals was 4 Gold, 4 Silver and 6 Bronze. Please pick up the special
issue newsletter for the full breakdown of the divisions and medal
winners.
A special thank you must go to Sensei Alan Prior,
Jackie, Michael and Robert Prior and all those students at theChichester
Dojo for the excellent running of the tournament and also for the very
warm welcome received.
Student of the Month
We
have been so busy during April with fun stuff for the GKI 13th annual
competition that we forgot to issue the April newsletter. This means in
this newsletter we have two students of the Month to acknowledge, one
for March and one for April.
So with this in mind and with the
decision on overall performance during the month taking into account
ability and attitude towards the dojo, other member students and
generally towards their karate art the nominations for these months are
going to be for girl power.
March student of the month is: -
Georgia HarcupCongratulations
to Georgia. Georgia has quietly stuck to practising her karate with
such concentration and recently passed her 9th Kyu with flying colours.
As she grows in confidence her power will also improve with good
technique. Here she is after a very good performance in the individual
and team kata divisions at the competition.
April student of the month is: -
Kathryn StylesCongratulations
to Kathryn. Kathryn has only just recently joined the dojo three months
ago. Being sporty and already doing judo Kathryn is learning fast. As a
white belt novice Kathryn also did very well at the recent competition
entering four separate divisions.

Don’t
forget the next grading is fast approaching with the date set for
