all those that took the adult grading, we know it was very hard but
fair and you all performed excellently. It has not been that long since
joining the OTGKA / IOGKF, so some things are new in the syllabus and
you all rose to the occasion. Congratulations to the following
successful students: -

8th Kyu (Orange belt) Susan Davies
9th Kyu (Yellow belt) Adam Fraser-Hitchen
Sensei Linda Visit Wednesday 5th March 2008 We
had a very successful turn out for Sensei Linda Marchant. This was the
first visit of our Sensei to the dojo and many commented how enjoyable
the visit was. Sensei Linda really enjoyed teaching everyone and said
she would like to put more dates into the diary so thank you all for
making Sensei very welcome.

Children’s Tournament Sunday March 9th 2008 We
hope you all enjoyed the children’s friendly tournament. The atmosphere
was good and the comments received back were very encouraging for this
first regional tournament. Every competitor was a winner and thank you
to everyone for all their support. A very special thank you to Sensei
Linda and Maroulla for all their organising. Thank you to Sensei Jason
for attending with his dojo and also particular thanks to Paul Gambon
who helped us with transporting all our equipment to and fro the Tooting

A Sad Farewell We
hope you all enjoyed the last training session with Aaran and Connor
Fraser-Hitchen. Anybody else thinking of leaving will have to do the
line & circle of farewell (death) especially if you tell us you are
leaving before you go! Seriously it was sad to lose a whole karate
family from the club. Adam started the adult sessions three months ago
while Aaran and Connor have been with us since the second month of our
opening the dojo two years ago. We wish them all the very best and a
successful stay in Germany over the next two years. Please visit us when
you come back on holiday.
Grading Don’t forget the next grading is on Monday 31st March 2008 between 5 and 7 pm. Please
note that the actual lesson for Monday will be between 4 and 5 pm. This
has been done because the classes have increased in size and we cannot
teach a lesson and grade at the same time. To grade you will
need a current licence and the proper attire. There is a new grading
examination pricing scale and this will provide the lesson, a new belt
and certification. Please see Sensei Andre and Sensei Daphne for the fee
applicable to your grade and also for eligibility.
