Student of the Month

It is time to nominate the first 2008 student of the month.

Taking into account overall performance in the dojo, the general attitude towards karate and that of the other students the first nomination of the year is:

           Aman Dhesi

Congratulations to Aman, who has recently joined the dojo after doing Judo. He put in a great performance at the end of last year during the grading and achieved 9th Kyu. Aman will achieve a lot more from his karate because of his enthusiasm and his continuous practice away from the dojo.

Adult Grading

The date is set for the next adult grading. The grading will start promptly at 19.30 and finish around 21.30. To grade you will need a current licence and the proper attire. Please ask Sensei for your eligibility and the current grading fee against the grade you are attempting.

Sensei Linda Visit

Wednesday 5^th March 2008

We are very honoured to have Sensei Linda Marchant visiting us to take the training on Wednesday 5th March 2008.

Sensei Linda is IOGKF 6th degree black belt (6th Dan) and Uchi Deshi (special student) of OTGKA Chief Instructor Sensei George Andrews.

Sensei Linda will instruct the children’s class in the early part of the evening and then follow with the adult’s class.

This will be the first visit of our instructor to the dojo, so, let’s please give Sensei a big welcome and please support us in attending the evening.

As always those children that do not normally attend on a Wednesday are very welcome to come to the event. Times are expected to be the same as normal training but with Sensei coming from London we will confirm nearer the date. As this is a very special visit from Sensei Linda a very minimal cost / donation will be charged just to cover expenses for the day.

Children’s Tournament

We hope all the children have picked up a leaflet describing the children’s friendly tournament to which we have been invited. The tournament will be held at Smallwood School in Tooting and the times are approximately 10.00 to 13.00 depending on the student entry. Please return your entry slip before Wednesday 27^th February.
